Featured Resources Overview
Featured Resources allow firms to showcase up to four key resources directly on a client’s app homepage. These can include documents, videos, links, or tools that clients need to access frequently.
You can apply Featured Resources as part of an assigned Experience or set them at the individual contact level—giving you flexibility to highlight what matters most to each client.
Featured Resources can be updated at any time, making them a great way to keep your content fresh and relevant. You might choose to highlight different resources seasonally, such as tax documents in the spring, open enrollment guides in the fall, or year-end planning tools in December. This ensures clients always see timely and valuable information on their homepage.
Use Cases for Featured Resources
Onboarding Documents
Display important onboarding forms or guides for new clients to reference as they get started.
Financial Reports
Share quarterly updates, portfolio reports, or market insights that clients can quickly view without navigating away from the homepage.
Tools & Calculators
Highlight interactive tools such as retirement calculators or investment estimators for easy access when clients are making financial decisions.
Event Announcements
Showcase upcoming webinars, seminars, or meetings, allowing clients to RSVP or get more details with a simple tap.
Link Resources to Featured Resource Templates
If you need to add a new resource to set as a Featured Resource, first create the resource in the Resource Library.
Once the resource is created, you can then link it to the Advisor Template to ensure it appears on the app homepage for clients.
Click the Settings icon in the Top Menu
Click Featured Resource Templates.
Click the Add button to create a new Featured Resource Template.
Update the Name & Description.
Or click the Actions button to edit a previously existing Featured Resource Template.
Click Link Resources button.
Use the search function to find your desired Resource, or locate it in the list.
Mark the check box next to the desired resources.
Click Link.
The linked resources will now show in the sequence which they will appear on the app's homepage.
💡 Tip: Ensure the Featured Resource image clearly represents the resource so clients immediately understand its purpose. Use visuals that are simple, relevant, and easy to recognize, helping clients quickly identify what they need
Connect a Featured Resource Template to an Experience
Go to the Settings icon in the Top Menu.
Click Experiences.
To create a new Experience click Add.
To edit a previously created Experience, click the Actions button, then click Edit. You can only edit Templates you own.
Use the drop down menu to select the desired Featured Resource Template and Save.
Important Note on Changing Featured Resource Templates in an Experience
Updating the Featured Resource Template within an Experience does not automatically update the template for contacts who were previously assigned that Experience.
Any changes you make will only apply to new Experience assignments moving forward.
If you want contacts who were already assigned the Experience to receive the updated Featured Resource Template, you’ll need to update their Experience. This ensures they receive the latest version of the Resource Template.
Edit a Current Featured Resource Template – Your Changes Cascade!
When you update a Featured Resource Template, those changes will now automatically cascade to all clients who have that template assigned. Any edits—such as updating featured resources, changing the display order, or removing outdated items—will be reflected in the app experience for all applicable clients in real time.
Click the Settings icon in the top menu.
Select Featured Resource Templates.
Click Actions, then choose Edit.
Add or remove or sequence featured resources, adjust their order, or make any other desired changes.
This change will cascade to all contacts with this Featured Resource Template.
‼ Note: You can only view Featured Resource Templates that you did not create. Only the original creator (owner) can edit a Featured Resource Template.
Update Assigned Featured Resource Templates in Bulk
Element Changes vs. Experience Reassignment
Element Changes (to Resource, Featured Resource, or Card Templates) automatically cascade to all clients assigned that Experience. These updates are seamless and maintain consistency without disrupting the client’s assigned Experience.
Reassigning or Removing an Experience is a significant action. It allows you to update any or all elements of the Experience — the Resource Template, Featured Resource Template, and Card Template. This can result in a full replacement of what the client sees, or simply a targeted update to one part of their experience.
⚠️ Before making changes, consider whether you just need to edit an individual element instead of changing the entire Experience. Updating elements is often the better choice when you’re not looking to completely reset a client’s experience.
Click Contacts in the Navigation Menu.
Click Bulk Actions.
Select Update Experience.
Use the search bar to find the desired contacts. To select in bulk, click the checkbox at the top of the list. You can also check individual boxes next to each contact as needed. Then click Next Step.
Toggle on Do you want to update the Featured Resource Template?
Use the dropdown menu to select your desired Featured Resource Template.
Click Update.
The selected Featured Resource Template will now be applied to all chosen contacts.
Assign a Featured Resource Template to an Individual Contact
Click Contacts.
Select the desired contact.
Navigate to the Experience section of the Contact Summary Page.
Remove the existing Featured Resource Template, if needed.
Use the dropdown to assign your desired new Featured Resource Template.
The new Resource Template will be applied in full to this individual contact.
Client In-App View of Featured Resources
Featured Resources are easily accessible for clients on their app homepage, where they can view up to four key resources at a glance.
These resources are displayed prominently, allowing clients to quickly tap and engage with the content, whether it’s a document, tool, or important update. The layout ensures that the most relevant materials are always within reach, making it simple for clients to stay informed and take action.
