Sync and Import Client Vendor IDs from your CRM Overview

You can sync your clients' unique Vendor IDs from your CRM and import them directly into your firm's back office, creating smoother tech stack integration workflows.

A Vendor ID is a unique identifier assigned by your tech vendors to represent each individual client.

Importing these IDs into your back office ensures accurate data syncing across systems– especially valuable for powering integrations and supporting automated workflows.

Vendor IDs are used to match clients across systems. Vendor IDs from your CRM can now be linked to the appropriate client in your back office, either during initial onboarding or as part of an ongoing sync.

Mapping CRM Vendor Fields (Admin)

Each CRM is a little different, so start by locating the field your firm uses to store Vendor IDs. This might be a custom field or a standard field, depending on how your CRM is set up. If you're unsure, check with your CRM admin or support team.

  1. Click on the Admin's Profile Image in the top corner.

  2. Click Integrations.

  3. Find your firm's CRM tile.

  4. Click Manage.

  5. Click Vendor in the panel on the left.

  6. Use the drop-down on the right hand side to match each of your Vendors with the corresponding Vendor ID field from your CRM.

  7. Click Save.

Sync, Import, and Update Contacts' Vendor IDs

Once you've mapped your CRM's Vendor ID field in your back office and input your Vendor IDs into your CRM, you're ready to sync and import your contacts.

⚠️ Caution: Before importing or running a sync, make sure all Vendor IDs in your CRM are accurate and up to date for every contact. Fynancial will import what’s currently in your CRM, so any missing or outdated Vendor IDs could result in incorrect mappings or missed connections.

Run sync and import/update from your CRM to automatically import and update each client's Vendor ID in your firm's back office. This ensures that every contact is matched with the correct identifier from your tech stack—keeping your data aligned and integrations running smoothly.

Update Individual Contact's Vendor ID from CRM

💡 Recommendation: To avoid overwriting any Vendor IDs you’ve manually entered in your firm's back office, we suggest updating Vendor IDs at the individual contact level. This gives you greater control and ensures accuracy when syncing or importing data.

  1. Navigate to Contacts.

  2. Click your desired Contact's name.

  3. In the top right, click the Sync from CRM button.

  4. Review the data fields/information that can be updated.

  5. Select the data fields you'd like to update.

  6. Click Update All or Update Selected.

  7. The Contact's profile will reflect the changes immediately.
