Overview
Your Marketing Link gives prospects a simple way to raise their hand wherever they find you: your website, an email, an event, or a piece of content. Every submission creates a Prospect or Lead in your Back Office, so interest doesn't get lost in an inbox or a spreadsheet.
This article covers how to choose the right link, where to place it, and how to follow up. If you haven't set up your Marketing Flow yet, start with Set Marketing Flow.
How the flow works
Because the Sign Up Page comes first, you capture a prospect's information before they see anything else.
Sign Up Page. The prospect enters their information, which creates them as a Prospect or Lead in your Back Office.
Landing Page. The prospect sees your heading, image or video, and description.
Buttons (optional). If you turn them on, the prospect can choose Book a Call or Download Our App as a next step. With neither turned on, the link works purely as a way to collect prospect information.
Before you share any link
Walk through this checklist so prospects have a complete experience from the first click.
Sign Up Page heading is clear. Prospects should know why they're sharing their information and what happens next.
Landing Page reflects who you serve. Your heading, image or video, and description should tell a prospect in a few seconds whether you're the right fit.
If you turn on Book a Call, open your booking URL and confirm your scheduling tool shows real availability.
If you turn on Download Our App, you'll set the following. Because they're assigned in advance, a prospect who downloads the app and logs in right away already has a team and an experience.
Team (required): who new prospects are assigned to. Team members get an email and push notification when a new prospect comes in.
Experience (required): what prospects see when they log in to the app.
Onboarding Journey (optional): a journey built for prospects who come in through your link.
You've tested it yourself. Submit the form on your phone, then confirm your test record appears in Back Office.
Ways to use your links
The same link can do a lot of work when it shows up in the right places. Here are common placements and how to use your link in each one.
Where | How to use it |
Firm website | Add a "Get started" or "Talk with us" button on your homepage and services pages. |
Email signatures | Add one short line, such as "New to [Firm]? Start here," to every advisor's and staff member's signature. |
Social media profiles | Put the link in your LinkedIn and other profile bios so it's always available. |
Seminars and in-person events | Turn the link into a QR code for your final slide, table cards, or handouts so attendees can sign up while interest is high. |
Webinars | Drop the link in the chat near the end and include it in your follow-up email. |
Newsletters and educational content | Close each issue or article with an invitation to connect with your team. |
Centers of influence (CPAs, attorneys) | Give partners the link to share when they introduce someone, so the introduction lands in your Back Office. |
Printed materials | Add a QR code to brochures, business cards, and mailers. |
Referrals from current clients? Use your Refer A Friend experience instead. It's built for clients to share with people they know.
Want to know which channels work best? Ask every prospect how they heard about you on your first call, and note it on their record. If you use a link shortener for different placements, check with your compliance team first.
Follow up after a prospect submits
A submission is the start of the conversation. A clear follow-up routine keeps prospects from going quiet.
Know who's responding. If Download Our App is on, the Team you selected is notified by email and push notification. Otherwise, decide who checks Back Office for new Prospects and Leads, and how often.
Respond quickly. Aim to reach out within one business day, while your firm is still top of mind.
Use what they shared. Review the prospect's submitted information before you reach out or meet.
Keep a steady rhythm. Plan regular, helpful touchpoints. See Build a Communication Rhythm.
Transition to onboarding. When a prospect is ready to become a client, move them into your onboarding process.
Tips and common pitfalls
Do
Keep your landing page short and specific: who you serve, and what happens after they submit.
Pair the link with a call to action that fits the placement, such as "Scan to get started" at an event.
Review your landing page copy, images, video, and placements with your compliance team before sharing.
Revisit your landing page periodically so it reflects your current services and messaging.
Avoid
Assigning an experience that isn't ready for prospects. Anyone who downloads the app sees it right away.
Turning on Book a Call with a broken booking URL or a calendar with no open times.
Leaving follow-up unassigned. New Prospects and Leads in Back Office need someone watching for them.
